WINE IS COMING: Game of Rhones festival celebrates the grapes of the Rhone Valley (think Grenache, Shiraz, Mourvedre, Viognier and Marsanne) and is making its way to Melbourne June 10th. Don your best Game of Thrones inspired outfit and make like Cersei Lannister by sampling a mix of Australia and New Zealand’s best wines. No Ifs, just Putts – Melbourne’s new indoor mini golf is teeing off

There is a graph somewhere in the universe that places all people in Melbourne on a spectrum. At one end of the spectrum is people who love the city for a lazy lunch, cheeky drink or just generally doing very little while consuming delicious calories to their hearts content. At the other end is the people who love to move and explore. Probably wearing sensible shoes with arch support, these people adore bubble soccer, know to the block the nearest rock climbing centre, and always book a hotel with a gym. If, like me, you sit somewhere in the middle, Melbourne has blessed us with the perfect spot to have a cocktail in one hand, and some kind of sporting accessory in the other – enter Holey Moley Mini Golf Bar. After gleefully donning your visor, enter a clash of pop culture and twee knick knacks and enjoy 27 themed courses, such as Game of Thrones and The Simpsons, while replacing your hard earned calorie deficit (Golf is a sport, right?) on cocktails like Happy Gilmoreo (Chambord …

Craft & Co pasta making workshop melbourne

Be a Pasta Master

Where can you find a place to learn, eat and drink? At The Craft & Co workshop! We attended their pasta making class, and gosh did we love it. Don, the head chef of the restaurant teaches you step by step how to make the perfect pasta at home. This informative class also provides you a booklet which you can take home. On top of everything, the décor of the restaurant is rustic and earthy. The class is held just in front of a room where they brew beer. The class begins with Don explaining how to perfect your pasta from making the dough. He gives you time to ask as many questions as you desire. (Here is a small tip from Don if you are unsure how much flour you need for just two people – 300 grams will be plenty!) Don then shows you how to make different types of pasta – spaghetti, tortellini, ravioli and more. The best part of the class is that you get a hands-on session and actually make …

Gillian Cosgriff – 8 Songs in 8 Weeks What about the MICF gets you excited? Seeing as many shows as I can, especially new ones. This year I’m hanging out to see Liam Ryan, Double Denim, and Alice Tovey. Also, eating my own body weight in potato cakes. What’s your top three recommendations for visitors to Melbourne to get the most out of MICF? 1. Take a chance on a show you’ve never heard of before – a new venue, a new genre of comedy, someone who flyers you in the street. 2. Go to the Festival Club to see a bunch of comedians in one show. It’s a great way to find a comedian you …
