High Cheese with Maker & Monger

Let cheese ignite your senses this winter as The Westin Melbourne is cosying up with Maker & Monger to deliver High Cheese, an extra cheesy take on the hotel’s popular High Tea. Launching on Monday 11 June, and running throughout all of winter, High Cheese will offer delectable cheeses hero in both sweet and savoury dishes, showcasing that cheese doesn’t just need to be reserved for after dinner. Westin Executive Chef, Michael Greenlaw has worked closely with Anthony Femia from Maker & Monger to source the ‘best in show’ of cheeses from across the world to be part of the High Cheese line up. High Cheese swaps out traditional scones and cream for scones served with creamed Giorgio Cravero Reggiano, the number one Reggiano affineur in the world. FORMAGGIO – A MONTH LONG CHEESE EXTRAVAGANZA

For the month of May, Baby Pizza is collaborating with Prahran Market’s infamous Maker & Monger to deliver FORMAGGIO, a delectable cheese extravaganza. FORMAGGIO will run all May long as Baby’s Senior Sous Chef, Anthony Simone serves up delicious eats using Maker & Monger’s cheese that are guaranteed to satisfy even the most extreme cheese lovers. On offer will be Panini’s for breakfast and lunch, with the option of Pecorino Sardo with mortadella, fior di latte and balsamic glazed baby onions for $13.50 or Italian Salme with fontina, giardiniera and watercress on a sourdough toastie for $14.50. After a successful inaugural 2017, MOULD – A Cheese Festival is back for 2018, returning to Melbourne for the second year running, and heading to Sydney for the first time. Presented by REVEL (the team behind cult wine event Pinot Palooza) in collaboration with cheesemaker and Milk Made author Nick Haddow of Bruny Island Cheese., MOULD is a celebration of the Australian cheese industry. The best artisan cheese producers from around the country – including Bruny Island Cheese Co., Yarra Valley Dairy, Shaw River Buffalo Cheese, Grandvewe, Stone & Crow and many more – will come together for tastings, conversations, demonstrations, and masterclasses. Demand from the cheese-crazed crowds was so high in 2017, that in 2018, MOULD will operate over multiple limited-capacity sessions. Say Cheese Festival

Say Cheese! Once again, Prahran market will be transformed into the “fromage capital” of Victoria. Held on Sunday 29th October from 10am to 4pm, the Say Cheese Festival will see local cheese makers, producers, mongers and other local producers gathering at the market to demonstrate their products. This year’s program will include Yarra Valley Dairy, Berrys Creek Farm Cheese, Apostle Cheese, Grampians Olive Oil Co, and Tolpuddle Goat Cheese and Farm Foods. There will be melted cheese, grilled cheese, cheese workshops, a tone of tasty cheese treats, cheese sculpturing, cheese on cheese on cheese, and more cheese. Say cheese again. Wine and Cheese Fest

The Wine and Cheese Fest returns this weekend and this year they are in a brand new location! Following the great success of the 2014 and 2015 spring events at Seaworks in Williamstown, The Wine and Cheese Fest is moving to the Meat Market heritage building in North Melbourne with new autumn outlook. Take a wander through the various stalls on offer with over 40+ exhibitors showcasing their best cheeses and wine! There’ll also be live entertainment including a jazz band and DJ, plus take part in the annual  Grape Stomp Comp and win a prize!
