Winter Harvest Festival at The Glen

Hibernation is not an option this winter when the festivities are this good – think toasted marshmallows, warming hot chocolate, whisky tasting and mulled wine. From Monday 18 June to Saturday 30 June, The Glen Shopping Centre will be hosting a winter themed festival across 12 days this month. The festival line up will include something for the entire family including market stalls, tasting plates, live music, cooking demonstrations and a Winter Whisky Harvest Masterclass courtesy of Moet Hennessy. The Winter Whisky Masterclass will take place in a purpose-built event space, emblematic of a cosy log cabin and staged against the mountainous backdrop of the Dandenong Ranges. One of Australia’s best known sommeliers, Matt Skinner, will join experts from Moët Hennessy to guide participants through the finest of whiskies including Ardbeg 10YO, Uigeadail and Corryvreckan in a masterclass coupled with complimentary canapes from Melbourne’s hottest burger team and new culinary concept, HuxtaGO. Since its opening on the 28 of March 2018, The Glen’s Food Gallery has been buzzing non-stop with local foot traffic. Just a short 40 min train ride from Melbourne CBD, this refurbished shopping centre is packed with numerous delicious cuisines at its Food Gallery. Let’s start with the presentation of The Glen Shopping Centre. It is full of greenery, open space, natural sunlight and modern design. You can see plants on every corner you turn, an amazing incorporation to bring the outside in. The Food Gallery is a 2,200 square metres open dining space, catering for over 850 seating space. This unique space is on the ground level of the shopping centre with floor to ceiling windows where you can look out to the beautiful Dandenongs and Yarra Valley. You can find 16 casual dining eateries including HuxtaGo by Huxtaburger, Capricho, D’elephant Thai and so much more; one of our favourites would be Omi Wagyu, the Japanese fusion restaurant. Great Eats served with Beats

The Glen will launch its new food gallery and the second stage of the shopping centre’s $460 million redevelopment with a three-week music event, commencing Wednesday 28 March on the new precinct’s first day of trade. Eats & Beats will see a program of acoustic soloists, singer-songwriters and instrumentalists visit The Glen, set up in the new 850+ seat food gallery and bring visitors the ultimate in laid-back lunchtime tunes and easy listening evenings. From classics to current hits and instrumental melodies, Eats & Beats will feature a number of Melbourne’s best local performers at The Glen for a limited time. Opening the Eats & Beats program will be musician Andrew Lim, who (like global superstar Ed Sheeran) can loop his own vocals, harmonies, and even his guitar live to captivate an audience and create a ‘band’ vibe. Regularly occupying the stage at the St Kilda Branch and Union hotel on Chapel Street, Lim will appear multiple times throughout the program. The Glen’s Your Market Festival

To celebrate the launch of their new fresh food market hall, The Glen in Melbourne’s south-east is gearing up to host their Your Market Festival with the culinary event highlighting Melbourne’s thriving and diverse food culture. The free festival from Thursday 19 October to Sunday 22 October includes four days filled with cooking demonstrations, kids entertainment, giveaways and tasty samples to enjoy. MasterChef contestant and renowned ‘golden ball dessert creator’ Michelle Lukman, Chef Adam D’Sylva from CBD restaurants Coda and Tonka and “The Wholehearted Cook” Dani Venn will showcase their famous and favourite recipes and share their tips to recreate their delicious dishes at home. Across the weekend kids will love rolling up their sleeves and getting involved in workshops with Andy Trieu, the Kitchen Ninja from SBS’ Kitchen Whiz and there will also be fairy floss, a food-inspired balloon artist and colouring stations thanks to Crayola.
