Decor + Design Melbourne 2018

Australia’s No.1 Interiors Trade Show, Decor + Design is thrilled to announce an aspirational line up of international and local guest speakers set to present engaging seminars and workshops from July 19 – July 22. The highly anticipated Australian House & Garden (AH&G) International Seminar Series will focus on “Everyday Luxury” and delve into styling high-end designs through the fundamental aspects of interior design and how designers create their trademark aesthetic. Each speaker will deliver varying opinions and expertise on the topic. Global powerhouse and Interior Designer Martyn Lawrence Bullard has been announced as this year’s keynote speaker. Big Design Market

Australia’s much-loved and original design market, The  Big Design Market,  returns to Federation Square this December. The Melbourne Design Market The market will bring together the best of independent Australian and international design for 3 huge days of Christmas shopping! Discover a stellar line-up of over 230 stallholders across homewares, textiles, fashion, furniture, lighting, stationery, lifestyle & kids products. To keep you hydrated while shopping there’ll also be a cocktail bar with locally made drinks from Merricks General Wine Store, Sofi Spritz, Starward Whiskey plus specialty teas from Love Tea. Connoisseur Food and Design Weekend

This November, Broadsheet are joining forces with ice cream aficionados, Connoisseur for a one-off weekend food and design market. Make your way to this Brooklyn inspired market  and indulge in food from Melbourne’s favourite Brooklyn-inspired restaurants (Bowery to Williamsburg, 5 and Dime Bagel, Nieuw Amsterdam, Shawcross Pizza) and  ice-cream flavours from New York ice-cream lords OddFellows – who have recently collaborated with Connoisseur to serving variations of their world-famous ice-cream sandwiches. All icecream sandwiches will be made with biscuits from Tuck Shop Take Away and flavours include Bed Stuy: peanut butter & pretzel with sweet cream, Coney Island: golden syrup with a butter swirl and corn nuts, Flatbush: chocolate brownie with chocolate custard, and Williamsburg:matcha green tea with white chocolate waffle cone. In true flea market fashion, there’ll also be a range of stalls where you can pick up beautiful crafted homewares and accessories from some of the best local designers such as  Arro Home , Alchemy Produx,  Cool Cactus Co,  Kitiya Palaskas,  Emily Green, plus more. Melbourne Design Market

Join 50 designers and thousands of design-lovers at the June Market in 2016. The Melbourne Design Market is the occasion to launch new products, to meet the designers who created these products and to come together in one place buy and sell, share and learn, build relationships and careers, all within an informal, fun, market setting. Taking place in the atmospheric carpark of Melbourne’s Federation Square, the market will be filled with hundreds of great designs from furniture, fashion, jewellery and homewares, together with fine coffee, food, music and a capacity crowd of design devotees. 200 Years of Australian Fashion at NGV

Walk through the history of Australian Fashion at the NGV’s latest exhibition: 200 Years of Australian Fashion. Featuring over 120 works from more than ninety designers, this is the first major survey of Australian fashion to be undertaken in this country. From the early dressmaking establishments of Brisbane to the mid-century salons of Collins Street, to the contemporary studios by Bondi’s beaches, 200 Years of Australian Fashion traverses over two centuries of fashion design in Australia. Take a walk through four galleries featuring the best of the best Australian fashion design including Dion Lee, Ellery, Romance Was Born and Toni Maticevski alongside key designs from the past 200 years, including exquisite examples of historic design. The biggest market of it’s kind the stalls will feature everything from fashion & accessories, homewares & textiles, through to kids products, stationary and books. Finders Keepers Market

The Finders Keepers market returns to the Royal Exhibition Building this weekend, bringing together the best local and national craft makers and designers. Starting on Friday (yes, the public holiday) and running through until Sunday, the markets are the perfect spot to start your Christmas shopping early. On top of the usual stalls, there’ll also be live music, cafe, food trucks, a bar. Etsy lovers, this is the dream.
