Brew Fest

Something’s brewing at the Immigration Museum this winter! Discover the role of brewing in cuisine, culture and community; from contemporary craft beers and sake tastings to mulled wine and beer based cocktails at Brew Fest this June 19. To warm you up, there’ll be all your favourite brewed beverages with talks and workshops hosted by Hawkers Brewery, Black Pearl Bar and Melbourne’s own Sake Master Andre Bishop. After class you’ll be able to  relax to the sounds of live bands and grab a bite in the courtyard with your brew of choice. Good Beer Week 2016

Beer lovers clear your calendars for Good Beer Week this May and fill your week with a whole lot of frothy filled fun. The official festival will kick off with the program launching at the Gala Showcase at the Fitzroy Town Hall on March 18, 2016. The main event will run from May 14 to May 22 and event-goers will have the opportunity to sample beers and find out all the insider tips from brewers from Victoria and all over the globe. Since it’s humble beginning over a round of beers at a city bar in 2011, Good Beer Week has grown to last year include 250 events across 180 venues, and this year promises to be the biggest event yet.  The frosty filled week will welcome thousands of beer lovers and brewers to Melbourne and Victoria from all over the globe. Interview with Chuck Hahn

Chuck Hahn is a name that any beer lover will recognise. As one of Australia’s highest profile brewers, his products (Hahn Premium and Hahn Ice) are well known and loved by all. We were delighted to spend some time with Chuck Hahn recently at The Swanston Hotel’s Beer Appreciation Evening and managed to ask a few questions about the brewing industry. You’ve been brewing beer now for over 30 years, can you tell us a standout moment in your brewery years? I guess the creation of new innovative beers might be the real standout reason for existence.  Even after ten years at Coors and six years brewing beers in Australia and NZ, the real standout moment was when we created Hahn Premium Lager in 1988, and I finally had my name on the bottle of a very fine pilsner style lager. Oktoberfest in the Gardens

Oktoberfest in the Gardens returns to Melbourne for it’s fifth year.
