Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show

Immerse yourself in a floral wonderland of scented delights and designer gardens when the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show opens its doors until 9pm on Friday 23 March for Gardens by Twilight. Experience the Show in a new light with gourmet eats and floral treats, while live music fills the beautifully lit utopia of the Royal Exhibition Building and Carlton Gardens for this special one-night-only event. Take part in floral workshops, explore the boutique garden displays and be captivated by the extraordinary Show in a whole new light. As part of the evening’s entertainment, Melbourne Flower School will be hosting two workshops at 6pm and 8pm. Melbourne’s favourite food trucks, including Beatbox Burgers, Taco Truck, Purley Delish and Agape Organics, will be providing tasty delights, plus woodfired pizza will be available from the Potting Sheds, all to be enjoyed with a drink from the pop-up bar. Interview: Dream Lover – Hannah Fredericksen

Dream Lover – The Bobby Darin Musical is a big show with a big score and a big heart. The show includes 34 great hits from the 50s and 60s including Mack The Knife, Beyond the Sea, Splish Splash and the multi-million-seller Dream Lover. We had a chance to have a chat with Hannah Fredericksen, starring as Sandra Dee, to find out more about herself and the show. Can you tell us a little about your background and how you got into performing? In primary school my Principal gave my Mum a book called ‘Raising Your Spirited Child – A guide for parents whose child is MORE intense, sensitive, perceptive, persistent and energetic’. Poor Mum. I think it was clear to my parents very early on that I wouldn’t take a predictable path! I discovered music and theatre throughout school and it was where I found myself and truly thrived.
