Great Eats served with Beats

The Glen will launch its new food gallery and the second stage of the shopping centre’s $460 million redevelopment with a three-week music event, commencing Wednesday 28 March on the new precinct’s first day of trade. Eats & Beats will see a program of acoustic soloists, singer-songwriters and instrumentalists visit The Glen, set up in the new 850+ seat food gallery and bring visitors the ultimate in laid-back lunchtime tunes and easy listening evenings. From classics to current hits and instrumental melodies, Eats & Beats will feature a number of Melbourne’s best local performers at The Glen for a limited time. Opening the Eats & Beats program will be musician Andrew Lim, who (like global superstar Ed Sheeran) can loop his own vocals, harmonies, and even his guitar live to captivate an audience and create a ‘band’ vibe. Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show

Immerse yourself in a floral wonderland of scented delights and designer gardens when the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show opens its doors until 9pm on Friday 23 March for Gardens by Twilight. Experience the Show in a new light with gourmet eats and floral treats, while live music fills the beautifully lit utopia of the Royal Exhibition Building and Carlton Gardens for this special one-night-only event. Take part in floral workshops, explore the boutique garden displays and be captivated by the extraordinary Show in a whole new light. As part of the evening’s entertainment, Melbourne Flower School will be hosting two workshops at 6pm and 8pm. Where to hike this Summer

With the weather warming up and the holidays approaching, we are planning bushwalking and hiking in Victoria’s best hotspots. If you wish to escape the city hustle and bustle below is a list of the best hiking places right on our doorstep, just waiting to be explored. EASY The Domino Trail – Trentham to Lyonville – Return (Near Trentham, Victoria) Length: 12km Duration: 4hours Location: Western Victoria Distance from Melbourne CBD: 85km (85km north west of Melbourne) Trentham to Lyonville hike is an easy and enjoyable walk running along the old railway line with the exception of a short detour around the bridge over Coliban River (about 600 metres from Lyonville). The walk is approximately 6km long and will take about 2 hours to complete one way. After a few minutes walking, you will discover the first old wooden bridge built in the late 1870’s which crosses Stoney Creek. Held in the iconic Royal Exhibition Building in Melbourne, this three-day shopping event features independent designers, creative workshops and local food and drink and is the perfect opportunity to find gifts.
