Good Food and Wine Show 2018

At the Good Food & Wine Show, presented by Citi, you can enjoy a fun day out with friends discovering new foods, wines and the latest products. Sample from hundreds of local and international exhibitors and find new recipe ideas from some of Australia’s best chefs. FORMAGGIO – A MONTH LONG CHEESE EXTRAVAGANZA

For the month of May, Baby Pizza is collaborating with Prahran Market’s infamous Maker & Monger to deliver FORMAGGIO, a delectable cheese extravaganza. FORMAGGIO will run all May long as Baby’s Senior Sous Chef, Anthony Simone serves up delicious eats using Maker & Monger’s cheese that are guaranteed to satisfy even the most extreme cheese lovers. On offer will be Panini’s for breakfast and lunch, with the option of Pecorino Sardo with mortadella, fior di latte and balsamic glazed baby onions for $13.50 or Italian Salme with fontina, giardiniera and watercress on a sourdough toastie for $14.50. For the pizza lovers out there, Baby will be serving up Pizza Quattro Formaggi for $25.50, with provolone, fior di latte, taleggio, gorgonzola dolce and salame cacciatore.  Pasta options include Ravioli Caprese filled with house made ricotta, scamorza, heirloom tomatoes, basil and reggiano for $18.50, Maccheroni al Forno, with baked ditali macaroni with taleggio, autumn mushroom ragu and nduja for $28.50, or Pasta al Formaggio Fuso with linguine, reggiano wheel, lemon and extra virgin olive oil for $24.00. …

FREE CHICKEN AT WINGS OF GLORY

Crunchy, delicious chicken wings are fast taking over our city and its cause for celebration. Wings of Glory, famous for their American style Chicken Buffalo Wings with a twist of local Australian TLC, are set to open their third store in Greensborough and they are throwing a party. The new instalment, in addition to South Melbourne and the Little Lonsdale Street stores, is close to RMIT and La Trobe Universities and what better way to fuel this city’s youth than a good old-fashioned chow down. Good Food Month 2018

Good Food Month presented by Citi returns to Melbourne in June with ten incredible featured events including an inspiring master-class, chef collaborations and flavour-packed parties. This year, the talent-filled, good-times-packed programme draws on the inspiration that fuels this great city, inviting food-lovers to re-imagine Melbourne’s buzzing dining scene over 30 delectable days. The Big Vegan Market is back for 2018, and this time there are some BIG changes about. Firstly, the markets are a lot bigger so you’ll have a lot more room to move about and browse all the wonderful without being too crowded. Also, and very importantly, we are now a 2 day market! Elizabeth Street will become a dessert lover’s dream, with stalls selling everything from doughnuts to cream pastries, luxury chocolates to crêpes. All about the Cheese!

After a successful inaugural 2017, MOULD – A Cheese Festival is back for 2018, returning to Melbourne for the second year running, and heading to Sydney for the first time. Presented by REVEL (the team behind cult wine event Pinot Palooza) in collaboration with cheesemaker and Milk Made author Nick Haddow of Bruny Island Cheese., MOULD is a celebration of the Australian cheese industry. The best artisan cheese producers from around the country – including Bruny Island Cheese Co., Yarra Valley Dairy, Shaw River Buffalo Cheese, Grandvewe, Stone & Crow and many more – will come together for tastings, conversations, demonstrations, and masterclasses. Demand from the cheese-crazed crowds was so high in 2017, that in 2018, MOULD will operate over multiple limited-capacity sessions. In Melbourne, session one will run from 5pm to 9pm on Friday 4th May, and sessions two and three will run from 11am till 4pm and 5pm till 9pm respectively on Saturday 5th May. Vic Market’s 140-year celebrations

The 140 Years Street Party on Sunday 29 April 2018 will be a highlight of the year-round celebrations. From 10am–4pm, Melburnians can celebrate everything they love about the Vic Market with a buzzing line-up of food vendors, free kid’s activities and live entertainment. The Vic Market’s Queen Street will come alive with popular children’s entertainment act, The Mik Maks performing on the main stage with ‘Drums the Panda’. Fun will continue for the whole family with a silent disco, flamenco dance performances, stilt walkers, mime characters, face painters, balloon artists and a magician roving the market. Street party-goers will be able to indulge in some of the best street food Melbourne has to offer with both Day and Night Market traders getting in on the birthday celebrations.
