Melbourne Food Porn Festival

You know them well. They’re the ones who have to take a photo of every dish before you dig in. The ones who have to get the perfect angle of every dish and when they show you their photos, you wonder why yours never turn out the same. And it turns out that the more we shoot and share our food, the more chefs keep making crazier and crazier dishes to capitalise. Everybody wins! To help showcase the most stunning foodporn images captured by photographers at some of the best eateries around Melbourne, our friends at Yelp are hosting Australia’s first-ever Food Porn Festival in Melbourne. The Festival exhibition will showcase the 40 best foodporn photos from photo-obsessed Melburnians. There’ll also be a swag of awesome prizes for the top winners, including a stay at the Adelphi hotel (plus dinner and breakfast for two), a degustation for two people at Taxi Kitchen, a coffee masterclass with St Ali’s Ben Morrow, who recently won top prize at the 2016 London. If you know someone who is food-obsessed enter them in …

Hot Tub Cinema Review

All terrible puns aside, we were invited along to experience the newly opened Hot Tub Cinema, located outside The Common Man in Southbank. Film for the evening… Labyrinth. Aim for the evening…. kick back in a hot tub, consume a few beverages and..’forget about the baby.’  … no? The whole experience is pretty slick, you can set up you bar tab, as well as pre-order cocktails and food to be delivered directly to your tub at a pre-arranged time. This means you’ll never need to leave the warm waters of the tub… well for food or drinks anyway (wink). Your water bottles are actually a clever multi-purpose …

In the last decade, the way people view beer as a beverage has become evermore diverse, from a comforting refreshment, to a passionate art form. Created by the combination of hard work by local boutique breweries along with the growth of inquisitive beer drinkers, has seen the upsurge of more local craft beer varieties being stocked in bar fridges or being poured in sideways glasses during local happy hours all over the state.  As a recognition to all things beer, Melbourne Good Beer Week is held throughout some of Melbourne’s finest pubs and bars and celebrates the rich culture and passion that exists amongst the production and (more importantly) consumption of local craft beer found in Victoria and wider Australia. Events range from food and beer pairing sessions, premium beer tastings straight from local breweries, themed parties, along with much more.  Some festival highlights that we have picked include  GABS 2016 – a festival within the festival, the best artesian brewers from around the world gather to showcase a celebration if all things beer and …
