Tap Dance Festival 2018

The 7th annual Australian Tap Dance Festival takes centre stage in Melbourne this spring, 29 September – 6 October, with a world class line-up of talented Tappers arriving for Australia’s premiere celebration of Tap. The Australian Tap Dance Festival is the only festival of its kind in Australasia and offers an action-packed week of Tap and choreography, lessons and master classes, dance battles, seminars, a Gala show and special events for all ages and levels. The festival will run at Melbourne’s Ministry of Dance, a full accredited dance and training studio founded by renowned Australian dancer, choreographer, performer and presenter Jason Coleman. This year’s Festival faculty features an exceptional line up of accomplished Tap artists including American headliner Melinda Sullivan – one of the most sought after Tap soloists and choreographers in the world (The Late Late Show with James Corden, La La Land, SYTYCD USA). Bastille Day French Festival 2018

Back for its fourth year, winner of the 2017 Award for Contribution to Multiculturalism by a Corporation, this popular festival brings together all the major French-Australian associations and businesses in Victoria to celebrate the best of French culture and its national day. Calling Francophones and Francophiles of all ages, our program ensures there is something for everyone. Held under the iconic arches of the heritage-listed North Melbourne Meat Market, the festival will be hosting movie screenings, an art exhibition, talks, masterclasses, live performances and a kid’s corner. All about the Cheese!

After a successful inaugural 2017, MOULD – A Cheese Festival is back for 2018, returning to Melbourne for the second year running, and heading to Sydney for the first time. Presented by REVEL (the team behind cult wine event Pinot Palooza) in collaboration with cheesemaker and Milk Made author Nick Haddow of Bruny Island Cheese., MOULD is a celebration of the Australian cheese industry. The best artisan cheese producers from around the country – including Bruny Island Cheese Co., Yarra Valley Dairy, Shaw River Buffalo Cheese, Grandvewe, Stone & Crow and many more – will come together for tastings, conversations, demonstrations, and masterclasses. Demand from the cheese-crazed crowds was so high in 2017, that in 2018, MOULD will operate over multiple limited-capacity sessions. In Melbourne, session one will run from 5pm to 9pm on Friday 4th May, and sessions two and three will run from 11am till 4pm and 5pm till 9pm respectively on Saturday 5th May. Following the sold-out success of last year’s Mr Black Festival of the Espresso Martini, they are bringing it back bigger and better to Melbourne’s Meat Market this November 03-05. This year will see the Meat Market transformed into six-bar cocktail village where you can enjoy caffeinated creations from some of Melbourne’s best specialty coffee roasters, bars and coffee shops. Start with the MR BLACK COFFEE SHOP – White Russian slushie, anyone?
