Twentysixteen –Circus Oz

If you haven’t seen a Circus Oz show before you’re in for a real treat. At Circus Oz nothing is impossible and everyone is extraordinary  and things won’t be any different for the newest show, Twentysixteen coming this June.  The latest show will be a refreshing cocktail of new and old, innovation and tradition.  The turbo-charged acrobats bring amazing new skill and wizardry to the flying trapeze, the Chinese pole and unicycle adagio. A brand new group-juggling act is sure to drop jaws as 21 clubs duck and weave from acrobat to acrobat. The two-hour show will feature all sorts of acrobatics and explosive aerial antics all accompanied by the sensational Circus Oz band! Wicked Chocolate Festival

If you’ve got a massive sweet tooth like us, then Prahran Market’s Wicked Chocolate Festival will be your idea of heaven! On Saturday May 7, the entire Market will be transformed into a chocolate wonderland of sensory delights and the cost of entry is free! See, taste, smell and enjoy everything chocolate with foodie fun activities suitable for the whole family, including a Taste the Chocolate Trail ticketed event featuring the Market’s mouth-watering chocolate delicacies; a pop-up Chocolate Precinct; free chocolate cooking demos, a producers’ stage, a ticketed cake making event at Essential Ingredient, free tastings and more. Melbourne’s never been cheaper

For one week only, some of Melbourne’s best retailers and there’s something for everyone. Grab a burger for $1 from Mr Burger,  6c juices from Greene Street Juices , heck you can even get 7c Happy Socks. The Happy Tappers pop-up will be at Melbourne’s iconic State Library precinct next week and NAB will be running the show showcasing their recently launched Tap n’ Pay technology on Android phones. If you’re a NAB customer and Android user, great! If not, don’t worry about it. They will have phones and topped up accounts for you to trial the tech and take advantage of the delicious deals on site. Cirque Adrenaline

From the producers of The Illusionists and Le Noir comes the heart-pounding Cirque Adrenaline. This family spectacular show blends traditional circus acts with the new; mixing clowns and trapeze artists with daredevil motorcyclists and complex aerial stunts. Cirque Adrenaline’s troupe of over 30 performers, many former stars of Cirque du Soleil are renowned for their theatrical flair and breath-taking acrobatic displays both on the ground and high above the stage. Scorsese

ACMI  are celebrating the Godfather of all directors, Martin Scorsese at the upcoming Scorsese exhibition this May. From Taxi Driver and Goodfellas to The Age of Innocence and The Wolf of Wall Street, there is no doubt in any film buff’s mind that Martin Scorsese is one of the world’s most influential directors. “Whether it’s wolves, bulls, butchers or taxi drivers, Scorsese’s complicated anti-heroes navigate mean streets of their own morality, torn between rebellion and acceptance, sin and redemption. While his characters spiral out of control, Scorsese captures every frame with masterly control.” The exhibition will feature over 600 objects (including costumes, hand annotated film scripts, film stills plus more) and a selection of footage of his work in  film, documentary and is curated by the Deutsche Kinemathek – Museum for Film and Television, Berlin. Wine and Cheese Fest

The Wine and Cheese Fest returns this weekend and this year they are in a brand new location! Following the great success of the 2014 and 2015 spring events at Seaworks in Williamstown, The Wine and Cheese Fest is moving to the Meat Market heritage building in North Melbourne with new autumn outlook. Take a wander through the various stalls on offer with over 40+ exhibitors showcasing their best cheeses and wine! There’ll also be live entertainment including a jazz band and DJ, plus take part in the annual  Grape Stomp Comp and win a prize!
