With a program filled with  dance, theatre, music, circus, visual arts, multimedia, outdoor and free events there is something for everyone. Some of our top picks include: Melbourne Art Trams Melbourne artists will showcase their art on Melbourne’s iconic trams. Now in its third year, Melbourne Art Trams is a vibrant celebration of a vehicle that has become an emblem of Australia’s premier arts city. “This year’s creative focus was conceived in association with MPavilion. Food Truck Festival

Coburg Drive In Food Truck Festival

 You can watch movies on rooftops or gardens across Melbourne, but nothing beats the old-fashioned drive-in experience, especially when it comes with delicious food. Returning this September 23rd and 24th, Coburg Drive In’s hugely popular Food Truck Festival will bring the best of Melbourne’s food trucks to the party. Trucks rolling in for the festival include  Kurbside Kravings, Beatbox, Happy Camper Pizza, Bibimpap, Those Guys Food, Toasta, Manny’s Donuts, Nuoc Mama’s Food Truck, Greek Street Food, Tasty Tasters, Mr Burger, Senor Churros, Pasta Face A Salted Squid.  With two big blockbusters, Everest and Pan showing on the big screen, we couldn’t think of a better way to enjoy these balmier Spring evenings. Spring has arrived! Smell the fresh scent of over half a million Tulips across 25 acres of farmland at the 62nd Tesselaar Tulip Festival. Just an hour’s drive away, the festival is set on a 55 acres land in Silvan, located in the Dandenong Ranges. This year, they will also announce the unveiling of the worlds biggest clog! Working in conjunction with internationally renowned chainsaw artist, Robbie Bast this will be the world’s largest wooden shoe on record! Along with the beautiful scenery of fields of tulips there will also be various themed days throughout the four-week festival including Turkish, Dutch, Food, Wine & Jazz and Irish weekends. Melbourne Music Week

Presented by City of Melbourne, Melbourne Music Week (MMW) is an eight-day program of imaginative events dedicated to celebrating and supporting the city’s world-famous music scene. Returning this November, get inspired by the sixth edition carefully curated program of events, all of which reflect aspects of the unique nature of Melbourne’s music industry. Celebrate Melbourne’s diverse local music scene with live gigs, DJs and parties at this year’s flagship venue, the Former Royal Women’s Hospital on Swanston Street. Dandenong Festival of Lights

For the first time ever, the captivating Chinese Cultural Works Light Spectacular is coming to Australia in September. Following successful tours throughout Europe and China, the Chinese Light Spectacular is set to amaze Melbourne with its Dandenong Festival of Lights. The Dandenong Festival of Lights will provide an incredible Chinese cultural experience for the whole family to share and enjoy through its display of 32 beautiful and unique silk lanterns. The vibrant light displays, some of which are an impressive 20m wide and 8m high, come in all shapes and forms, including windmills, Chinese Zodiacs, dinosaurs and many more. Indian Film Festival of Melbourne

This festival celebrates the world’s largest film industry; Bollywood. All types of Indian movies are featured, from record making blockbusters to small independent productions. The festival also includes a Bollywood dance competition, awards night and master classes from some of India’s biggest movie stars and producers. If you love hot chocolates, then this festival is for you! Returning for it’s third year, The The Yarra Valley Chocolaterie will be the hottest way to indulge this winter, showcasing  31 different hot chocolate flavours in 31 days. The menu will be changed on a weekly basis and if last year’s flavours (salted caramel, nutella, pina colada, turkish delight) are anything to go by, we would say that if you weren’t already obsessed with chocolate, you will be after this.
