Polish Festival

For one day, Federation Square will be transformed into a European style historic town square for the Polish Festival. The festival celebrates Polish hospitality as well as their hearty food and ‘romantic traditions.’ Sounds like one not to be missed. Melbourne’s very first Gin festival

Did you know there are more classic cocktails made with gin than with any other spirit? To celebrate this fine spirit,  Pilgrim and Riverland have joined forces with The West Winds Gin to bring to Melbourne, Melbourne first gin festival, Juniperlooza. Launching the summer season at Federation Wharf,  Junipeplooza’s program is filled with  gin tastings, ‘meet the maker’ sessions, pop up bars and gin inspired food stalls from some of Melbourne’s favourite and freshest establishments as well as plenty of live entertainment across. What’s On in November

November is a big month in Melbourne. Spring Carnival is in full swing, Good Food Month brings over 200 culinary events to the table and we’re edging just that tiny bit closer to summer. French Festival

Paris to Provence

The annual extravagant Paris to Provence French Festival  returns to the Como Historic House this November for it’s sixth year. Immerse yourself in a whimsical French pop-up village for 3 days showcasing the beauty and elegance of the French culture. Midsumma Festival

Melbourne’s annual queer celebration, Midsumma Festival returns this January for another great 2 weeks full of arts and culture spread over 85 different venues. Bringing together a mixed bag of artists and performers, the festival will include events and activities such as visual art, theatre, cabaret, live music, parties and film. Meyers Place Latin Fiesta

This October, Meyers Place will be transformed into a Latin American street party. The all-ages festival will be filled with the party vibes, showcasing Latin American’s finest food, wine and culture from Meyers Place venues San Telmo, Lily Blacks, Mr Big Stuff, Loop and Loop Roof. And if that’s not enough to get the party started,  there’ll also be live music from Latin American bands  (curated by Mick Williams, PBS Latin connection segment presenter), Carpoeira, and dance lessons of salsa, merengue and samba. Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest in the Gardens

Oktoberfest in the Gardens returns to Melbourne for it’s fifth year. Embrace the largest Australian Oktoberfest celebrations and taste your way across Europe with a large selection of imported German beer, cider, wine and a range of other beverages. The Festival will take over Birrarung Marr with a a massive beer hall, authentic German food stalls, roving performers, a silent disco plus, beer and more beer. Channels Australian Video Art Festival

Channels Australian Video Art Festival,  Australia’s only biennial celebration of video art and culture kicks off with a bang this Thursday.  The 10-day curated festival will feature 60 artists in 21 events and will present the very best contemporary video practice from across the globe in Melbourne and in the digital sphere.  International festival guest Sam Smith’s new exhibition Slow Fragmentation will mark the launch of the event and the evening will screen  a selection of twelve video works from artist-run-initiatives in Australia and New Zealand at Screen Space. Other highlights include: Saturday 19th September, 4-6pm – opening event with drinks at Incu and Zambes. Selected by Project QUAD, seven video works are presented in non-traditional exhibition spaces including shopfronts, restaurants and hotels along one of Melbourne’s busiest laneways. Royal Melbourne Show

The Royal Melbourne Show is the highlight of the Spring school holidays. Conducted annually by The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria (RASV), the show celebrates and promotes excellence in Victorian agriculture, attracting around 500,000 people over 11 spectacular days. Entertain the kids with rides, live shows, arts and crafts.
