Sippin’ on Gin and Juice – Four Pillars

As a Melbournite you’ll often find yourself in the situation of hosting interstate friends or family and, as you live here, and don’t see this fantastic city through outsiders eyes, putting pressure on yourself, wondering what you could possibly do to keep them entertained.  Problem solved. Just under an hour outside of Melbourne, in the Yarra Valley township of Healesville, you can spend a delicious afternoon (and a small fortune on gin goodness) at Four Pillars Gin Distillery. Brew Fest

Something’s brewing at the Immigration Museum this winter! Discover the role of brewing in cuisine, culture and community; from contemporary craft beers and sake tastings to mulled wine and beer based cocktails at Brew Fest this June 19. To warm you up, there’ll be all your favourite brewed beverages with talks and workshops hosted by Hawkers Brewery, Black Pearl Bar and Melbourne’s own Sake Master Andre Bishop. After class you’ll be able to  relax to the sounds of live bands and grab a bite in the courtyard with your brew of choice. Tromba Tequila Dinner at Red Spice Road

If your only memory of tequila is slamming it down with salt and lime, this July your thoughts about tequila are set to change. On July 24th, Red Spice Road are teaming up with Tequila Tromba  to bring you a Tequila Tromba Dinner. Sip on a delicious range of Tromba Tequilas cocktails perfectly married to the fresh south-east asian flavours cooked up by Head Chef Dylan McCormack. Wine & Wildlife

Healesville Sanctuary is teaming up with Yarra Valley icons to bring you a gourmet experience with a wild difference! The Winter Night Markets are back!

Everyone’s favourite night markets are returning this June. Grab a group of friends and cosy up under the market sheds for The Winter Night Markets with Melbourne’s hottest foodies, artisans and performers. Negroni Week

Drink for a cause and celebrate the bittersweet orange tipple during Negroni Week. From June 6-12, various venues across Melbourne will be donating $1 for every Negroni sold to select charities.  Presented by Imbibe Magazine and Campari, Negroni Week initially launched in 2013 as a celebration of one of the world’s great cocktails and an effort to raise money for charitable causes around the world. Now in it’s fourth year, the week has raised close to $500 000 for charitable causes. Melbourne Tea Festival

This May, the Melbourne Tea Festival will celebrate the specialty loose leaf tea. Wander through the tea market and discover some of the best artisanal teas around, grab a bite to eat from a food truck, indulge in a sweet treat or sit down and enjoy a cup of tea in the brew lounge. Participate in hands-on sessions and tasting with workshops hosted by leading industry specialists. The festival day will have two elements, a tea market – featuring dozens of stallholders; and a program of ticketed workshops – where you can immerse yourself in the world of tea with some of Australia’s leading tea specialists, as they host educational talks, tastings, demonstrations and hands-on sessions.
